The Story of Karen
The founder Liao, Ting-Hong (Master Chef Liao) has devoted himself since the first teppanyaki restaurant-New Hama was introduced to Taiwan for more than forty years. Mr. Liao worked at the teppanyaki restaurant as a Head chef in Lai Sheraton Hotel which was the best hotel in Taiwan in 1981.
In 1986, Master Chef Liao was invited to open his own teppanyaki restaurant by Parco Department store in Ximen in Taipei. That was the first food court in Taiwan, and then he became the pioneer who developed a new kind of teppanyaki that differs from traditional, high-grade ones in Taiwan.
Over the years, we have grown to 10 restaurants in many popular spots in the major cities of Taiwan, including Taipei 101 and Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport. Karen Teppanyaki has won the top volume of business and best reviews from customers even though there are many similar competitors nowadays.

This type of Teppanyaki can only be found in Taiwan and China markets, which rarely seen in other countries, such as America and Europe. It has great potential for the development. We have done some surveys from foreign customers and got excellent reviews and feedbacks. Therefore, we are looking for a partner to develop this business overseas with us. Greetings and hai Teppanyaki Malaysia team. I’m a HUGE fan of Teppanyaki from Johor Bahru. I enjoy my dine session at your several outlets in KL when visiting KL.
Sincerely, i’m hoping for Teppanyaki to come to Johor Bahru. Hope this 2018/2019, Teppanyaki has plan to expand at this southern city.

I really think these are the perfect malls for Teppanyaki to expand in JB. It’s located at mature area and i’m sure it has no problem to attract everyday crowds.
Johor Bahru is so ready to have several Teppanyaki restaurant in town, our city is growing and the needs to have good restaurant like Teppanyaki is very important.
