Notable speakers include Olaf Scholz, Chancellor of Germany; Jonas Gohr Støre, Prime Minister of Norway; Ursula von der Leyen, President, EU Commission; Robert Habeck, German Minister of Economics; and Jan Christian Vestre, Norwegian Minister of Industry.
According to Basilion Triantafillos, Global Director, Deutsche Messe AG, who spoke at the media event in Bangsar on 23 January 2024, HANNOVER MESSE 2024 serves as the go-to place for finding solutions to business challenges. “You will discover valuable answers within the innovative and diverse offerings of the speakers, exhibitors, and participants here. It’s a comprehensive platform where solutions abound, ensuring that any issues you encounter in your production endeavours can be effectively addressed,” he explained.
Norway is this Year’s Partner Country
Appointed as this year’s partner country at HANNOVER MESSE, Norway showcases its commitment to advancing green industrial solutions in its pavilion in Hall 12. With a rich industrial history and a pivotal role as an energy producer, Norway’s dedication to accelerating the green transition aligns with the fair’s theme. Integrated into the European market via the EEA Agreement, Norway and Germany’s strategic partnership emphasises collaboration on climate, renewable energy, and green industry for mutual progress and seamless trade.
His Excellency Morten Paulsen, Ambassador of Norway, said, “In recent times, there has been a heightened emphasis on energy security, prompting Norway and Germany to intensify collaboration over the last two to three years. This period has witnessed a substantial shift, moving beyond a historical reliance solely on oil and gas to a broader focus that prominently includes renewable energy sources.”
Besides Germany and partner country Norway, the exhibitors hail from all over the world, including China, Malaysia, Italy, Türkiye, Switzerland, and the United States. Global players participating in the fair include AWS, Bosch Rexroth, Shell, and Siemens, as well as medium-sized companies, startups, and renowned research institutes such as Fraunhofer.
Deutsche Messe Invites Entries for the HERMES AWARD 2024
Every year, Deutsche Messe AG will bestow a company with the HERMES AWARD in recognition of a product or solution with proven exceptional technological innovation.
Entries for this prestigious industrial award are now open until 21 February. There is a €250 application fee, but startups can participate for free. The winners will be awarded at the HANNOVER MESSE’s opening ceremony on 21 April by Germany’s Minister of Education and Research, Bettina Stark-Watzinger. Prof. Dr.-Ing. Holger Hanselka, President of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, chairs the independent jury, which will nominate three products each for the HERMES Award and the HERMES Startup Award from among the submissions and determine the respective winner from those nominees. Submissions will be evaluated based on innovation, industry impact, environmental benefits, cost-effectiveness, and implementation maturity.
“Winning the Hermes Award, recognised as the pinnacle of industrial innovation, isn’t just an honour. It’s a powerful validation from the global market, elevating your achievements to the highest echelons of one’s field and solidifying one’s position as an industry leader,” said Triantafillos.
