The Story behind…
Con-x-ion started operating with only 6 drivers for the first 10 years to Theme Parks on the Gold Coast. In 1996, Andrew Phillips acquired Con-x-ion, operating out of just a tin shed. In 1997, Andrew seized the opportunity to expand the business by incorporating Brisbane Airport transfers to and from the Gold Coast. With the business rapidly expanding, by 2000 Con-x-ion incorporated Gold Coast Airport (Coolangatta) transfers. In keeping with forward planning and growth, in 2001 a full online reservation system was developed. Con-x-ion commissioned a purpose-built state of the art reservation system that is continuously upgraded to meet the demand of industry and global advances. In addition, Con-x-ion increased vehicle technology and coaches were fitted with GPS in 2005. This allowed regular monitoring of the coaches to assist in maintaining efficiency in operations, safety and security.

Con-x-ion Operators, at a glance, can determine a coach’s location to enable a prompt response to a customer’s enquiry. GPS also aids in managing unforeseen problems with traffic, flight delays and other variables. By 2005, Con-x-ion had incorporated transfers from Brisbane and Sunshine Coast Airports to Sunshine Coast accommodation houses. 2008 saw the merge of two profiled transport providers – Airport Con-x-ion and Door 2 Door Airbus. This powerful combination now dominates the industry under the one brand AIRPORT CON-X-ION.
