Chicking celebrated the official opening of its first outlet on 11 Nov at the chain’s flagship outlet in Tropicana City Mall. Dato’ Ghazali Bin Datuk Yusoff, Board Member of Malaysia Investment Development Authority (MIDA), performed the ribbon cutting honours, while Puan Sofia Leong Abdullah, CEO of the Malaysia Franchise Association processed the restaurant’s first sale to commemorate ChicKing’s maiden venture in Malaysia.
Established in the United Arab Emirates in 2000, Chicking plans to open 50 outlets in the Asia-Pacific region through franchising in the next three years, 25 in Malaysia and the remaining in the South East and East Asian market. In Malaysia, the second ChicKing outlet has just opened in Dataran Pahlawan, Malacca and another one in Shah Alam, Selangor on Dec ‘10. It also has embarked on groundbreaking initiative creating an entrepreneurship programmes with the Entrepreneur Development Centre of University of Malaya for Malaysian university graduates to develop entrepreneurs with strong business acumen and sustainability.
